To Be Held

The tiny four-year-old with messy blond hair accidentally knocks down Chloe's tower. She looks at me with tears in her eyes and says, "I want Daddy."

Today is my day to help with Sunday school, and I am on the floor building towers with four and five-year-olds. Rough job, for sure. And now she is crying.

I pull her in and hold her. Patting her back and trying to comfort her, I attempt to assure her she is okay. As soon as I hold her and give her a big hug, she calms. She snuggles into my shoulder.

This little girl is overflowing my love tank!

Kids have simple emotions, simple joy, simple gratitude, and simple love. They are so simply precious.

With this girl on my lap, in my arms, I am comforted, too. It is simple and beautiful - to be held.
